The heel has cushioning that keeps the shoe from slipping off one's heel. Comfortable shoe.

I liked the style right out of the package. The boots aren't leather. They are typical of Timberlands and are a bit wide and longer than other shoes marked the same size, but I expected that because I own several. They breathe well, but don't use them for

Good boots...except for the fact that they have no cushy ankle wraps like most boots do, so expect to wear out several pairs of socks before they start "breaking in" due to the fact that your heel rubs directly on the back of the boot. Also, the toe cover

I always buy Timberland shoes for outdoors. They are well built and comfortable.

I like them because they are casual enough to wear anytime with jeans, but nice enough to wear to work with dress slacks, too. The low heel is great for me because I need something comfortable since I am on my feet a lot at work. These are fairly new and I haven't worn this pair much yet, but I got them to replace a nearly identical pair of Timberlands (which I lost) that I wore all the time! Although they seem rugged enough, they are too nice to wear in the yard or for hiking trips.
